Sugar's Story:

Investigators of TSPCA received a report, stating a rabbit had been kept in a cage on the side of the road for a long time. Her backfoot seemed to be injured. The investigator immediately went south and saw Sugar. Although there were no feces accumulated in the cage, the food and water bowls were so dirty that no one seemed to have cleaned them. Sugar was rescued by a nearby resident in a car accident. After the rescue, she was kept on the side of the road because the resident could not keep pets at home.

Although the current number of animals in TSPCA has been exceeded, after some discussions and inquiries, TSPCA still believes that such an environment is not suitable for Sugar. Therefore, the investigator asked local volunteers and the animal protection department to communicate with the resident, wishing to find her a forever home. Eventually, Sugar was brought back to Taipei.

Sugar, who is currently at a foster home, looks cuter every day! According to the foster mother, Sugar has improved on so many levels. In the past, Sugar would often dash around to reduce her anxiety. She used to feel anxious when being touched, but now she will rush over and slips into the foster mother's arms to ask for a hug. In the past, it used to be a challenge when it came to cutting Sugar's nails, which took days to complete. Nowadays, Sugar can let the foster mother cut her nails all at once while relaxing and eating grass.

More improvements are being made, such as less sneezing and anxiously biting clothes or staying calm when massaging her spine. These are all the signs showing how Sugar is becoming more emotionally stable and accepting humans contacts.

Sugar is improving every day because she really wants an eternal home. If you are willing to welcome her to make her your softest and loveliest family member, contact us!
